RUSSIA READY TO JOIN HANDS WITH WORLD AGAINST CORRUPTION MOSCOW, MARCH 5. /RIA NOVOSTI'S ALEXANDER SMOTROV/ -- Russia thinks the efforts taken by the global community against corruption to be very important and is eager to get involved in them, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksander Yakovenko told a news briefing Monday. One example of anti-corruption interaction Yakovenko sees in cooperation between Russia and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, which "is seriously and professionally working in this area", said the diplomat. The OECD has worked out, among other things, the convention on the struggle against bribing foreign officials in concluding international commercial deals. Under it, the national legislations of the countries on the convention must introduce clauses on juridical responsibility for the bribery of both national and foreign officials.
