GEORGIA'S RESIDENT ON RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA TBILISI, MARCH 5. /RIA NOVOSTI'S DAVID IMEDASHVILI/ -- The Georgian foreign minister is winding up work on a draft framework agreement between Russia and Georgia, president Eduard Shevardnadze has told reporters. He was hopeful that, after the new agreement is signed, there will start a process of "normalisation in Georgian-Russian relations". According to President Shevardnadze, today there are indeed certain problems and "irritants" in Russian-Georgian relations which are mostly linked to the introduction of the visa regulations. On December 5, 2000 Russia had to introduce visas because Georgia was regularly giving refuge, material and medical aid to Chechen terrorists. The Russian Foreign Ministry repeatedly said that it was forced to take the measure.
