TOMSK UNIVERSITY AND SHINYANG INSITITUTE TO COOPERATE TOMSK, March 5. /RIA Novosti correspondent Natalya Reshetnikova/. Two agreements with Tomsk Polytechnic Institute have been signed following a two-day visit to Tomsk, a city in Siberia, by a delegation from China's Shinyang Technological Institute. One of the agreements provides for the establishment of a single research centre, press-centre of Tomsk Polytechnic Institute reported. The centre will be functioning in Tomsk, where Russian and Chinese scientists will conduct research on nuclear physics, electronics, high tension technology, chemical engineering and fine technologies. Specialists from other Siberian universities and research institutes will cooperate, the idea being to market their developments elsewhere in the world. The other agreement, on scientific and technological cooperation, provides for joint efforts in organising shared academic laboratories at Shinyang Technological Institute on heavy-current electronics. The sides will also cooperate in training specialists. Tomsk will receive 10 post-graduate students from China. It is planned to organise instruction of Russian and basic disciplines /physics, chemistry and mathematics/ in China so that Chinese students could later study in Tomsk.
