RUSSIA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION WILL DISCUSS TRADE PROBLEMS MOSCOW, March 5, RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Ivashchenko - Russia and the European Union will hold a regular session of the sub-committee for trade and industry which is acting within the framework of the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the European Union, reported the office of the European Commission in the Russian Federation. The issues to be discussed include mutual access to commodity markets, removal of trade restrictions and the problems concerning the negotiation process for Russia's joining the World Trade Organisation. Quite possibly they will also discuss the expansion of the European Union at the expense of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the context of the influence of this process on the trade between the European Union and the Kaliningrad Region (the Russian enclave in the Baltic). -O- (kos/kaf) 05/03/01 16:47
