AGREEMENT ON SPACE COOPERATION CONCLUDED WITH BELGIUM MOSCOW, MARCH 5, 2001 - FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT. The Russian government has approved an agreement concluded with the Kingdom of Belgium on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. The Government Information Department reported that the aim of the agreement is to promote mutually advantageous cooperation in various spheres of joint activity connected with the exploration and use of outer space and the use of space equipment and technologies for peaceful purposes. The countries will cooperate within the framework of the agreement in such spheres as astrophysical research and planetary studies; remote sensing of the Earth from space and others.
