TRIAL OF TERRORISTS IN DAGESTAN TO BE RESUMED MAKHACHKALA, March 5, 2001 /from RIA Novosti correspondent Dekabr Beibutov/ -- The trial of the terrorists who blasted an apartment house in Buinaksk in September 1999 will be resumed on Tuesday. The hearings of the 40-volume criminal case lasted for over three months. Now the hearings will be renewed in the form of pleadings between the sides - the public prosecution and the lawyers. As a result of the explosion of the dwelling house in Buinaksk on September 4, 1999, 58 people died. The representative of the public prosecution - Prosecutor Rashidkhan Magomedov said that the court had succeeded in proving the guilt of all six defendants under ten articles. On this ground he demanded a capital punishment to two of them - Isa Zainutdinov and Alisultan Salikhov. For three others - Zainutdin Zainutdinov (the son of Isa Zainutdinov), Magomed Magomedov and Makhach Abdusamedov - the prosecutor demanded 20 years of imprisonment in a top security jail, plus a big monetary fine.
