FRANCE TO RECEIVE DOCUMENTS ON EXTRADITION OF RUSSIA'S MIKHAIL ZHIVILO THIS WEEK NOVOSIBIRSK, March 5, 2001. /from RIA Novosti correspondent Maxim Koshmarchuk/ -- Spokesmen for the Prosecutor's Office of the Novosibirsk Region have reported that a package of documents on the extradition of the Russian businessman Mikhail Zhivilo detained in France will be handed over to the French side as early as in the middle of this week. The Russian Prosecutor's Office has already gathered documental confirmation of the businessman's involvement in a grave crime. All the documents have been translated into French. Head of the MIKOM concern Mikhail Zhivilo is accused of organising an assault on Aman Tuleyev who then was governor of the Kemerovo Region. Since last autumn Zhivilo had been on the Interpol wanted list, while on February 22 he was arrested in Paris at the Interpol request. Now the entrepreneur is being kept in custody in La Sante prison of Paris. The French court will decide on handing him over to Russian law enforcers.
