THE CHINESE BUDDHISTS ARE SHOCKED BY TALIBS'S VANDALISM








BEIJING, March 4. /RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Isayev/. The heads of the Chinese Buddhist Association "are shocked and grieved" by the decision of "the Talib regime in Afghanistan" to destroy the ancient Buddhist statues in the country. As the RIA  Novosti correspondent reports, this was stated by the  Association's official spokesman. 


	The Chinese Buddhists "are concerned about this decision of the Talibs, which deeply offends the feelings of all Buddhists" and "urge the Taliban to halt this destructive act immediately." -O- (kos/ter)  04/03/01    12:24
