UNKNOWN PERSONS FIRE ON VEHICLE WITH GEORGIAN OFFICERS AND MEN NEAR TBILISI








TBILISI, March 3. /RIA Novosti correspondent David Imedashvili/. Near Tbilisi three unidentified armed men in masks fired on Saturday at a vehicle carrying four officers and four soldiers of the Kodzhori battalion of Georgia's Defence Ministry, RIA Novosti was told at the press centre of Georgia's Defence Ministry.


	The incident took place in the community of Tskhneti, about 10 kilometres from the Georgian capital. 


	According to the press centre, an unknown man tried to halt the vehicle with the servicemen. After the driver pressed on, automatic fire was opened on it, presumably by people hiding in the bushes.


	As a result, one soldier was wounded. 


	The criminals escaped. An investigation has been opened. 


	The Kodzhori battalion is an elite unit in the structure of Georgia's Defence Ministry.
