NO PALESTINIAN-ISRAELI SECURITY CONSULTATIONS BEIRUT, March 3. /RIA Novosti correspondent Konstantin Maximov/. Saib Ureikat, leader of a Palestinian delegation in talks with Israel, has denied reports about the resumption of Palestinian-Israeli consultations on security. Ureikat believes that this must be preceded by settlement of "hung" political issues. "It is nonsensical to separate security from politics," he told journalists in Cairo on Saturday. Amin Al-Hindi, chief of the Palestinian security service, said on Thursday that Palestinian National Authority head Yasser Arafat agreed to a US wish to coordinate with Israel security-related issues. Cooperation in this field is one of the conditions by newly elected Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for easing the blockade of Palestinian territories.
