MOLDAVIAN COMMUNISTS NOMINATE THEIR LEADER VLADIMIR VORONIN AS CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CHISINAU, March 3. /RIA Novosti correspondent Georgy Stoilik/. A plenum of the Moldavian Communist Party's central committee has instructed Communist deputies elected to parliament to nominate Vladimir Voronin, first secretary of the Moldavian Communist Party's central committee, as candidate for president at the country's upcoming presidential election. Under Moldavia's constitution a president is elected by the parliament. At parliamentary elections held on February 25 the Communists won 70 deputy seats /out of 101/.
