IGOR IVANOV MEETS PRESIDENT OF AMERICAN-RUSSIAN BUSINESS COUNCIL AND PRESIDENT OF RUSSIAN-AMERICAN BUSINESS COOPERATION COUNCIL MOSCOW, March 3. /RIA Novosti correspondent/. Russia's Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov on Saturday received Eugene Lawson, president of the American-Russian Business Council, and Yuli Vorontsov, president of the Russian-American business cooperation council, it was said in the Russian Foreign Ministry's press and information department. There was an interested and informal discussion of the expansion and improvement of Russian-American trade, economic and investment ties. The Minister stressed the importance which the Foreign Ministry attaches to efforts in the economic area and its readiness to be actively involved in the creation of favourable conditions for productive joint work of Russian entrepreneurs and their foreign partners, including political and diplomatic "sponsorship" of the most massive and promising projects of bilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to the tasks of strengthening direct links between business interests and entrepreneurial associations of both countries as a prime condition for the successful development of Russian-American relations.
