SPEAKER DOES NOT RULE OUT MOLDOVA'S JOINING RUSSIA-BELARUS UNION MOSCOW, March 2. /From RIA Novosti correspondent Pavel Shevtsov/. Gennady Seleznyov, Speaker of the State Duma, Russian parliament's lower house, does not rule out that Moldova may one day join the Russo-Belarussian Union. He said that at a news conference Friday. Moldova has sent its official observers representing both Chisinau and Tiraspol to attend a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union, according to Seleznyov. The speaker opined that the communists' victory in the parliamentary elections in Moldova makes the republic's joining Romania less probable. This victory, Gennady Seleznyov believes, will promote a soonest resolution to the Transdniestria problem.
