LIE GIVEN TO SLOBODAN MILOSEVIC'S ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO SELL GOLD TO SWITZERLAND BELGRADE, March 2. /RIA Novosti's Sergey Ryabikin/. Allegations that Yugoslav ex-President Slobodan Milosevic sold 173 kilos of gold to Switzerland have not justified themselves. The gold taken out from Yugoslavia at the end of 2000 has proved to belong to a foreigner. Vladan Begovic, director of the Yugoslav customs board, reported Friday that this gold had been processed at a dressing factory in the town of Bor, which has been engaged in imported concentrate treatment on foreign orders for the past ten years. This is a normal foreign trade operation, said Vladan Begovic. The Yugoslav customs arrested the last 5-kilo gold consignment in the Belgrade airport but the check-up has shown that it was quite legal.
