Dalma Shagdarova, chairman of the Moscow Buddhist communities, told RIA Novosti that the Buddhists condemn the Afghan Talibs for their decision to destroy ancient Buddhist statues. "Unique masterpieces are being eliminated. On learning about such sacrilege, any Buddhist feels enormous pain," said Shagdarova. She referred to the Taliban as malicious and ignorant people rejecting other confessions.
