RUSSIA AND HUNGARY TO SIGN AGREEMENT ON MILITARY AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION MOSCOW, March 2, 2001. /From RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Ivashchenko/--In April, Russia and Hungary might sign an agreement on military and technical cooperation. The issue was discussed in Moscow at today's session of a bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation. The Hungarian side confirmed its willingness to modernize its Soviet- and Russian-made materiel. The upcoming agreement is meant to settle this matter, a Russian participant in the session told RIA Novosti. Last year, Russia completed its special equipment deliveries to Hungary, thereby paying off around 90% of its Soviet-era debts to Hungary.
