According to President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan, it is necessary to perfect defence system and strengthen national security as there is a danger that bandit formations are ready to intrude this country. This is connected mainly with large-scale drag-trafficking and religious extremism, the president added. This was disclosed by the president at a session of Council of the republic's National Security he chairs. The president assigned the Command of the military districts and law-enforcement bodies a task to perfect combat training of the formations and units of the Uzbekistan's Armed Forces and providing state-of-the-art equipment and materiel.
