VLADIMIR PUTIN VISITS THE HO CHI MINH MEMORIAL








HANOI, March 2, 2001 /from RIA Novosti correspondent Marianna  Shatikhina/ -- Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, visited the Ho Chi Minh Memorial.  The head of the Russian state laid wreaths to the Ho Chi Minh  Memorial and the near-by Monument to Fallen Heroes. 


	Then Vladimir Putin will visit the Temple of Literature, one of the main cultural and historical monuments in the Vietnamese capital. According to a legend, it was founded in 1070 as a  shrine of Confucius.


	The Temple of Literature was restored in 2000, the main sponsor of the work was the Russian-Vietnamese joint venture Vietsovpetro. -O- (kos/var)
