RUSSIA NOT TO PUT UP WITH U.S. RIGHTS ALLEGATIONS MOSCOW, March 1. /RIA Novosti/. Russia will not tolerate ungrounded accusations made in a doctoral tone by the US Department of State in an annual report on the world's compliance with human rights. The report makes far-fetched conclusions on freedoms of the press and religion, on army and law-enforcement action, and Chechen developments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says in a statement. The report does not provide reliable grounds for its accusations, which come from a country known for frequent instances of antisemitism, racial prejudice, police violence, biased journalism, and violation of essential constitutional rights and freedoms, stresses the statement. The new US Administration will bring new blood to rights experts' ranks, so rights reports have an opportunity to become more objective and put an end to double standards, hopes the ministry.
