ARMENIAN PRESIDENT EXPECTED IN KIEV KIEV, MARCH 1, 2001. /FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT VIKTOR DEMIDENKO/ -- President Robert Kocharyan of Armenia is arriving today in Kiev for a two-day official visit. According to the press service of the Ukrainian president, the Armenian leader is coming to Ukraine at the invitation of the Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma. During the visit the two leaders will discuss a broad spectrum of issues related to extending ties between Ukraine and Armenia in all spheres. Prominent on the agenda will be prospects of trade and economic cooperation. Besides, the agenda of the visit envisages signing of a treaty between Ukraine and Armenia on economic cooperation in the 2001-2010 period and a package of intergovernmental agreements, including on preventing emergencies and liquidation of their aftermaths, a memorandum on cooperation between customs services and others. In addition, the sides will sign a treaty on friendly ties between the capitals--Kiev and Yerevan. The Armenian president will also visit Odessa /a large port on the Black Sea/, where he will meet with representatives of the Armenian diaspora.
