G8 LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO JOINTLY CRACK DOWN ON ORGANIZED CRIME MOSCOW, March 1, 2001. /RIA Novosti/. A first-ever meeting of G8 law enforcement community was held in Moscow on Thursday, with issues of fighting organized crime in Eastern Europe on the agenda. Russian Interior Ministry sources disclosed that Russian experts had consulted their counterparts from Britain, Germany, Canada, France, the US, and Interpol and Europol representatives. The participants of the meeting shared intelligence on the crime situation and hammered out specific measures to forge stronger ties in the fight against organized crime.
