The State Customs Committee of Russia swelled federal coffers by 38.35bn rubles (about $1.3bn) last February, exceeding by 7 percent the assigned amount of customs payments to be collected, the Committee told RIA Novosti today. The Customs Committee pointed out that over the two months of 2001, customs duty-collecting bodies had brought in a total of 70.55bn rubles in federal incomes. This is also a 7-percent increase over the amount assigned by the government for the same period.
