Ziele |
Ziel dieser
Lehrveranstaltung ist es ein theoretisches Fundament und Techniken
vorzustellen, die in der Informationsvisualisierung verwendet und
angewendet werden können.
Hauptsächlich handelt es sich bei der
Informationsvisualisierung um das Erzeugen von visuellen
Repräsentationen (abstrakter) mehrdimensionaler Daten,
Informationen und Wissens. Diese visuellen Repräsentationen
helfen, die Kognition der/des Betrachterin/s zu erweitern, um
Informationen so auf eine effiziente Art und Weise zu vermitteln. Es
ist wichtig, sich klar zu machen, daß die
Informationsvisualisierung nicht das Hervorbringen schöner,
interessanter oder spektakulärer Bilder beabsichtigt, sondern es
geht um die aufgabenspezifischen Problemlösungsansätzen bzw.
den Prozeß dessen und darum Einsicht in einen Sachverhalt zu
erlangen.
Das Hauptziel der Informationsvisualisierung ist
es, der/dem BetrachterIn bei dem Entdecken von Zusammenhängen zu
helfen, das Treffen von Entscheidungen zu erleichtern und sie/ihn in
die Möglichkeit zu versetzen, Sachverhalte zu erklären und
verstehen.
