RUSSO-JAPANESE SUMMIT TO BE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE FOR BILATERAL RELATIONS TOKYO, MARCH 14, 2001 /RIA NOVOSTI correspondent Vyatcheslav Bantin/ -- The forthcoming Russo-Japanese summit in Irkutsk on March 25 will be of great importance for the bilateral relations, Japanese Foreign Minister Yohei Kono announced during his meeting with Russian ex-Prime Minister Yevgeni Primakov. "I think it is important to show to our peoples the results of our efforts to sign the peace treaty according to the Krasnoyarsk agreements. We must also define the direction of our further talks on the issue," the Minister said. Yevgeni Primakov has arrived in Japan to participate in the meeting of Russo-Japanese experts, organised by the Japanese Scientific and Research Institute for security problems.
