PRESIDENT OUZBEK A REQUIRES A REINFORCEMENT OF THE DEFENSE OF THE
COUNTRY








TACHKENT, March 2.  (Corr. Ria " Novosti " Valeri Niyazmatov).  The
president ouzbek Islam Karimov emphasized the necessite to improve the
system of defense and to reinforce the security of the country
vis-a-vis to the attempts at incursion of tapes armees on the
territory of the republic which are due, initially, with the traffic
of drug and has the religious extremism always increasing.

Islam Karimov made this statement in front of the members of the
Council of the national security that it preside.

The president has load the command of the military districts and the
departments coercive to improve the vocational training of the forces
armees of Ouzbekistan and to equip them in modern armaments and
materiel of war.
