PROTOCOL RUSSO-VIETNAMIEN ON THE PROSPECTION AND THE EXPLOITATION OF
THE GAS AND OIL RESERVOIRS








HANOI, March 1.  (Corr. Ria " Novosti ").  The governments of Russia
and Vietnam have sign Thursday a protocol of co-operation in the field
of the geologic prospection and the extraction of oil and of gas on
the continental shelf of the South of the RSV within the framework of
the mixed company sovieto-Vietnamese " Vietsovpetro ".

In accordance with the agreement occurred, block 04-3 of the
continental shelf of the South-Vietnam is included in the sphere of
activity of " Vietsovpetro " to carry out and the prospection research
tasks there of oil and gas within the limits and the coordonnees
established.  Work will be finances by the parts has parite while
drawing from the funds of reserve of " Vietsovpetro ".

The prospection and research tasks will last 4 years, this time can be
prolongs one year per agreement between the parts.  The form of common
development of the resources decouvertes of oil and gas will be
definie then by the parts.
