TAJIKISTAN'S BORDERGUARDS DETAIN TWO AFGHANI RESIDENTS








DUSHANBE, March 9, 2001 /From RIA Novosti correspondent Najmidin Azizov/ -- Early on Friday morning, Russian borderguards detained two Afghani residents who attempted to cross the Tajik-Afghan border illegally.


	According to the press service of the Tajikistan-based grouping of the RF Federal Frontier Service, the transgressors were detained at the border sector controlled by the Ishkashim border detachment. They were carrying ammunition for a fowling-piece of calibre 16, personal belongings and food. The incident is being inquired into.
