RUSSIAN FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH FUND'S CHARTER APPROVED








MOSCOW, MARCH 6, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent/ -- The  Russian government has approved the charter of the Russian  Fundamental Research Fund. The Fund is being established on the decree of the Russian President and is a state non-profit  organisation. The Fund's objective is to support fundamental  scientific research. 


	In compliance with the charter the Fund is empowered to independently select research spheres and distribute money  allocated from the state budget between the realms of science.  


	The Russian Ministry for Industry, Science and Technologies has been instructed to submit to the government a candidacy for  the post of the Fund's chairman before March 15.
