A GOVERNOR HIGHLY ASSESSES PUTIN'S VISIT TO VIETNAM HANOI, MARCH 2, 2001. /FROM A RIA NOVOSTI SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT/ -- Governor Edward Rossel of the Sverdlovsk Region /the Urals/ highly assessed the agreements reached during Vladimir Putin's visit to Vietnam, coming to a close on Friday. Edward Rossel participated in the Russia-Vietnam talks in Hanoi as a member of the official delegation escorting the Russian president. According to the Sverdlovsk governor, the documents signed in Hanoi, first of all the Declaration on Strategic Partnership, laid a firm basis for fully reanimating the once close economic and humanitarian ties between the two countries. Edward Rossel noted the fundamental agreement between the two leaders on supplies of Russia's military hardware to Vietnam. The governor believes that Sverdlovsk enterprises of the military industrial complex could participate in realisation of these agreements.
