Arkadi Orlow /. the secretary of the security council of Russia Sergej
Iwanow arrived in the Tuesday evening in Washington.

On Wednesday Sergej Iwanow will meet with the Sicherheitsberaterin of
the US president Condoleezza Rice and afterwards with the US Secretary
of State Colin Powell.  It is also expected that the secretary of the
security council will meet on the same day with journalists.

The work attendance Sergej Iwanows is the first possibility for global
contacts in Washington with representatives of the new republican
administration, among them in the context of the security council of
Russia and the advice for national security with the US president, who
is led by Condoleezza Rice.
