VLADIMIR PUTIN OVER ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION BETWEEN VIET NAM AND
RUSSIA








HANOI, 1 March (of RIA Nowosti Sonderkorr.)  Vladimir Putin called to
a more effective use of the existing basis of the bilateral relations
for the development of economic co-operation between Russia and Viet
Nam.

With its meeting with of Viet Nam Prime Minister Phan Van Khai of
Russia stated head of state that " between both countries an extremely
good basis for the development of the relations was created ".

Nevertheless " still very much must be undertaken for a further
development of economic co-operation ", so Putin.  " in the passed
year the handelsumsatz with Russia made Vietnahms for only four per
cent of the total extent of the handelsumsatzes out ", determined it.
  " does not correspond to our possibilities. "  Vladimir Putin
stressed at the same time that " the vietnamesische people achieved
much in the passed reform years - the progress is obvious ".
