VLADIMIR PUTIN OVER DEVELOPMENT OF CO-OPERATION BETWEEN RUSSIA AND
VIET NAM UNDER NEW CONDITIONS

it would be an inexcusable stupidity to lose a high level of the
mutual relations which existed between the USSR and Viet Nam.  The
avowed president of the RF Vladimir Putin on the press conference in
Hanoi.  He emphasized that global cooperating between our countries in
the times of the Soviet Union had not been dictated by ideological
considerations.  This cooperating was to be due to deep long-term
interests of the two countries, underlined Putin.

The Russian president explained the necessity for the maintenance and
development of mutually favourable co-operation under new Bedingugnen,
under which today Russia and Viet Nam live, and in agreement with a
new international reality.
