AMBASSADORS OF EU THREE TO RUSSIA ARE TO VISIT CHECHNYA STOCKHOLM, MARCH 9, 2001, /FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENTS ANNA BOBINA, LYUDMILA BOZHKO/ -- Ambassadors of the EU Three to Russia are to visit Chechnya. This fact, according to a RIA Novosti correspondent, was disclosed by Anna Lindh, Swedish foreign minister at the Friday press-conference held in Stockholm. According to her, Friday witnessed the meeting of Igor Ivanov, Russian foreign minister, with representatives of the EU Three who accepted Russia's proposal to invite ambassadors of the EU Three to Chechnya. Lindh also noted that the situation in the North Caucasus had come under discussion at the meeting with Ivanov. Among other issues the sides exchanged opinions on the report of Alvaro Jil-Robles, Council of Europe's Human Rights Commissioner who had visited Chechnya last week. According to Anna Lindh, they also wrapped up the results of the recent visit the EU Three paid to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
